I have downloaded adobe flash player 9 and it says its downloaded, but when I go on a website and try to run a programme it says that i need to install adobe flash player, what is that all about?

Try going to
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#uninstaller and run the
uninstaller to get rid of all versions of Flash Player. You may have to reboot.
Go back and install the latest Flash Player. What website are you going to that
is giving you that error? It could be their Flash file is restricted to only a
particular version of Flash.
