I am writing in Flash 8 Professional and have my publish settings set to create
html and swf files on publishing.  However, in my latest project when  I hit
publish it appears to run then stops.  Flash 8 Professional stops responding
and I have to use ctrl...alt...delete to exit and restart. If I opt for swf
only then no problem, it publishes faultlessly.  Ctrl + enter also runs and
creates an swf file without a hitch.  There is nothing unusual in the project
and all my other projects still pubish perfectly.
I can work around it by taking an earlier version of the html file (it used to
work) and editing it to reflect the new version.  Anyone got any ideas what may
be going wrong?

Just guessing: are you using the default Publish settings (not one of the oddball device ones)? Could there be any memory problems?

Thanks for your suggestion.  I am using the default settings of html + swf
only.  It works fine for all other projects, many of which are way bigger than
the one which is causing the problem.  It seems to be something in this fla
file which is causing it to crash.  Bit of a mystery as there is nothing
unusual in there and the .swf file is created perfectly if requested on its
own.  Its only the html which refuses to create.
