I'm mentioned this a while back, but no one ever had any clue. When Flash is
opened for the first time, and I go to file/import to stage (or library), the
import dialog box takes about 10 seconds+ to appear. Any attempts to import
items afterwords are successfully done quickly. Why is Flash not responding for
these 10+seconds?

It could be the antivirus program, the first time you import something it
checks everything in the folder you import from, then having this done once it
doesn't check again untill the folder content changes. Or if you are using
Flash CS3 it is only natural to have performance issues :grin; simply
uninstall it, use Flash 8 and get tre problems off your head :wink;

Anti-virus you think? Next time I will watch my task manager as I'm trying to
import for the first time to see if anything is hogging the cpu. What you said
makes sense, but I've noticed this issue since CS# came out. I would think
others would have similar issues (unless it's isolated with McAfee+Flash CS3).
Uninstalling Flash CS3 is not even an option. You can't run flash 8 while
running adobe cs3 anything (at least from what I read), and I'm not about to
lose my whole cs3 suite just for this one little nag. I'm not running vista...

I'm running Photoshop CS2 and it doesn't slow my PC .... I don't know ... The
CPU is Centrino 1.73 GHz and 1 GB RAM
Do you have a lot of fonts installed? If they're too many, this may cause a
problem too. Try keeping the installed fonts under 300.

What does Photoshop CS2 have to do with this issue? My issue is strictly Flash
CS3. If you are using PS CS2, then how would you even know about an issue in
Flash CS3? First of all, I don't think you can run anything from CS2 if you
have anything CS3 installed.

So, is this a known issue with Flash CS3? Anyone???
