I'm brand new to Flash.  I'm working from the "Flash CS3 Professional Classrom
in a Book".  If I rotate text it vanishes when I do a Test Movie or Publish to
SWF.  I've tried this with a simple single frame file.  Set some text and leave
it alone, set another line of text and rotate it.  The rotated text is not in
the Test Movie or the resulting Published file.

Any ideas?

you are either:
a) using a 'device' font - _sans, _serif, or _typewriter
b) using a dynamic textField and have not embedded the font in the field

Thank you, clbeech, however this is not the case.  I am using Arial and the
Text is Static Text.  I select the text with the Selection Tool, set Rotate to
anything in the Transform palette's Rotate field and it doesn't show up when
published or I do a Test Movie.  Unrotated text does show up.

I just tried something, I selected "Anti-alias for animation" in the
properties palette for just this piece of text, and it worked fine.  That seems
weird to me, since the CIB doesn't mention this at all.

Thanks for your help,

Steve

Just for sh.ts and grins, try embeding the characters and see of that
makes them show up.

Sometimes rotated text won't show up for me if there is a mask layer
above it.
