Hi all, I have to say I have had one of the most frustating weeks ever.......
I am a mid level flash programmer and ASP too, I want to start using
Coldfusion w flash remoting, and/or Flash to conect to databases and so. I just
got the Coldfusion MX 7 Web application construction Kit by Ben Forta to start
ilustrating my self.
When trying to start working with Flash Remoting, I have been reading
tutorials, examples, example code, forums, exchange and all there is to read
and I can not figure it out.
I have flash professional 8: When I download and start reading ANY of the
tutorials from MM I open the fla file and when testing I get an error message:
**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Actions, frame=1:Line 4: Error opening include
file NetServices.as: File not found.
#include "NetServices.as"
I read the forums, and I can't find a straight answer on how to make it work,
which then stops me from continuing reading the tutorials. For what I get this
tutorials were ment for Flash MX 2004 and there is a new aproach for this, but
No info found.
On the other hand when in Coldfusion I can?t make the gateway test to work.

href="http://localhost/flashservices/gateway/">http://localhost/flashservices/ga
teway/</a>
I get an error page, and can't find anywhere a solution on how to fix the
problem.
I'm using Win XP Pro
IIS 5.1
Studio 8
Coldfusion 7 with the updater 7.01
I also want to mention <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge
href="http://www.asfusion.com/">http://www.asfusion.com/</a> as a GREAT site
for coldfusion and flash remoting, BUT it seems to advanced for someone trying
to start learning this technics.
If there is anyone who knows a good starting point site, it would be GREATLY
appreciated.
Please some one take me out of my misery

Hi, NetServices.as is now deprecated and you can find the new way by doing the
following:
Hit F1 in the program and look in the book: Using Flash Remoting MX 2004 >
Using Flash Remoting Actionscript > Calling service functions > Calling service
functions overview
Also, make sure you download and install the remoting components for Flash 8
here: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge
href="http://www.adobe.com/products/flashremoting/downloads/components/
Also,">http://www.adobe.com/products/flashremoting/downloads/components/
Also,</a> have you tried using the url <a target=_blank
class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge
href="http://:8500</b>/flashservices/gateway]http://localhost<b>:8500</b>/flashs
ervices/gateway">http://localhost[b</a> ? The :8500 part depends on your
server configuration. If you're using the integrated Coldfusion server, it
should be 8500.
