If you haven't seen the site, you should definitely check it out:
http://www.dosomethingamazing.com. It is very impressive

However, what I would like to know, is how they got everything to come up
without loading (background, menus, video clips). Or at least we dont see it
load. Is it just my machine or does the navy have a new flash technique?

It is indeed a slick site. But things don't all load instantly. The video clips
load as still images first, until at least some portion of each video is
loaded, then they start playing. On my 6mb broadband connection, the preloader
displayed for about 1 second, then the main page loaded, and about 5 seconds
later all the videos started playing. However you look at it, it's impressive
performance. The main page is not particularly complex or image-heavy, just
well-designed, so it loads quickly. Clearly they put a lot of careful work into
formatting the images and videos for optimal file sizes. It's a well-done site.

You are right. I tested it on a wireless laptop, and noticed the preloaders.
Yet like you said, it only takes a second. A bit of irony between the name of
the site and the site itself.  I will be that good one day. :grin;

Umm, isn't that the Air Force?
GAMBRKER - 26 Oct 2006 13:58 GMT
Well right....that's what I said...I just misspelled it.  Navy, Air Force, the
spelling is so close, it could have happened to anyone.

There, Gotta love the Air Force site. Thanks for catching that.
