Hi guys,

I just purchased Creative suite CS3 and flash cs3 is one of the applications
included, I am used to creating websites that are datadriven and use asp.net
2.0 and sql server 2005 as a back end for my data, I notice there is a datagrid
component in flash cs3 and I am wondering if I can create a site using flash
and have it connect to the database for the data, I need to be able to update,
delete and view data through my flash site, being new to flash I am wondering
if its possible and if anyone has tutorials that would cover such a situation.

Appreciate any help.

What you have to do is from flash call a server side script (ASP would be my
choice for a sql server database, PHP would work as well) via the LoadVars
object. Then in the asp write the information so that flash can read it and
then change the read data and pass it to and array which will work for the
datagrid as the dataProvider.

Gorka

Hi Gorka,

Thanks for your reply, are you aware of any tutorials that show how to connect flash to an asp.net script.

Jonathan.
