You still may have a problem on non-Windows machines. Not sure how a Mac
would handle it.
As to the first part, in Flash 8 authoring to Flash 8 player there is an
Embed button in the properties window for a dynamic TextField. In other
versions I believe the button is labeled Character.

The font definitly has the french characters, I'm sticking with just
Helvetica
for the project. I'm not sure about the first part, this is all new to me so
I'm kind of peiceing together tutorials and things I find. As of now assume
that I haven't embedded anything, what would be my next step?
Thanks for the help!

Actually I am working on a MAC, and I only have flash MX, but your right under
character you can embed different characters. When I do that though the special
character doesn't show up at al, it seems to just be ignored by flash.

Duh - Helvetica of course you are a MAC.
I am not the expert on this, but I think you need one of the Latin choices.
You may find more help in the Flash General forum if you repost there.
