I've tried to implement this code

http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/horizontal03.htm

into my homepage and it works fine except for one thing: although I'm on
the page 'index.html' which is linked to by item one like this

<li id="active"><a href="index.html" id="current">Item one</a></li>

the item is not colored properly. It should have the same color as a button
the mouse cursor is hovering above but it isn't. How do I do this? TIA!

I thought that wasn't necessary since the tutorial code I'm referring to
has the same error. Anyway here's my demo page, only the external links
work so far: http://www.city-mail.com/moon/c64/index.html

It's always surprising: Posters do not know what the error is yet
presume to know what it is important.
I see no problem with the a:hover background color. It's the color the
CSS indicates it should be (#688098).
BTW there is no ID "active".
