Ok guys and gals, hold the codpiece and give me your best shot.
Strictly HTML coder of some <ext> experience. I have just lost a
major client to CSS.
Why? WTF?
Do I go do Java to get on top? Do I run a css page into sites?
Please, URLS or good solid advice.
Do not have a clue? Stay stum.

Wake up - the world has moved on since 1996 :-)

Nope.

No, you learn how to do the styling of everything on the page with
CSS, and you abandon tables for layout.

Just learn CSS, plenty of links to be found in Google, or check the
section 'CSS tutorials' on this page:

I agree with everything above but I would not abandon tables.  I still find
them very useful.
I still hardcode the tables and forms in HTML.  Everything else is Perl and
CSS.

They are, very useful actually. Just not for page layout.
