Well, google may be posting this spew to news groups, but they're not
hosting the spewer. There are a number of posters who are using google
to post their spew to newsgroups with impunity. I think this must
change but I'm at a loss as to how to get google to pay attention to
this problem. Their standard response is that it's not their problem.
I personally think someone should send Guido over to Google's corporate
offices to adjust this attitude. And send a bunch of Guido's associates
to AOL, who hosts many of these people.
As to what to do for amos, I've kill filed him. And I've emailed the
abuse address for the IP he posted from and yahoo.com.tw. Usually,
yahoo's free email accounts are shutdown fairly quickly.

Couldn't someone do pretty much the same thing by hosting their own
webserver, or using less-controlled public or anonymous news servers? I
don't really see what google CAN do, realistically, about it. (Unless I'm
missing something about this discussion, which I'll freely admit is
possible)

I think we should send Guido & company to AOL just on general principle :)

Interestingly, news.individual.net doesn't even show the 'amos'
articles.
