I've inherited a coldfusion mx 7 system running on winblows 2003 and need
to add a database connection. All the documentation says to use the
administrator but trying to access
http://localhost/cfide/administrator/index.cfm results in the error "unexpected
constant #2 65". I copied the cfide directory to cfroot and tried the builtin
server via http://localhost:8500/cfide/administrator/index.cfm but get the same
error. Any ideas?
Also, is there any way to configure a new database connection for
coldfusion to use without going through administrator?

I suspect some one mangled CFIDE by copying or installing various versions on
top of a prior one.
Delete and replace with a good one. Setup a new developer CFMX7 of the same
point release as you have, if needed. You can find out the version of cf by
running cfusionmx7\bin\cfinfo -info.
