Hello All,

Can someone help me with the following questions?

1. Which is the best tool (free or otherwise) for load testing a cold fusion
application?
2. Is there any tool available which sends out a warning or logs when
coldfusion server utilisation increases to beyond a set limit? Does coldfusion
itself log such data (about its capacity utilisation) anywhere on an ongoing
basis?

Any tips about how to analyse a server crash will also be helpful!

Thanks,
tame_it

Hi Tame_it,

1. For Load Testing you can go for either Microsoft's "Web Application Stress
Tool" (WAST)  (or)  "OPENSTA" (both are free tools).. Below are the links..

http://www.opensta.org/

2. And for better server montoring tools you may go for either
http://www.seefusion.com/ or http://www.fusion-reactor.com/home.html  both are
commercial tools... But you can download the free demo versions

Hi there,

Furthermore to this topic, if i bought a new server that was fairly good
(processor speed wise etc) by todays standards and had this server dedicated to
running a CFMX7 management system where users would be logging in and out of
sessions frequently, how many users or simultaneous sessions could this server
roughly handle. Any ball-park figure would be great.... Anyone?

Would this depend on the type of database behind the application?

thanks,
mick
