Server Application Error

Hello, I just purchased the Macromedia Studio 8 and installed it.  All the
products worked fine except the ColdFusion.  After the installation was
completed it tried to run the ColdFusion Administrator and the following error
appeared:  I have included the error reported in the event log plus the system
information below.

Server Application Error
The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the
processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail
information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance.

1. Did you reboot.
2. Look in services and be sure that cf is running
3.  what is the link the administrator is trying to open.

Thanks for your help and yes I rebooted and both services "ColdFusion MX 7
Application Server" and "ColdFusion MX 7 Search Server" are started.  The link
to the adminisrator is http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm.

On some computers, I have to use http://localhost/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm
- they will not accept 127.0.0.1.  And I've had the reverse true, also.  I have
noticed some posters to this forum use a port designation - I think :8888 -

Thanks for you help.  I tried both ways and I get the same error message.  I also contacted Adobe phone support and the refuse to help me.

Did you try with your IP Address?

To Find it

Click Start
Select Run
Type CMD
Hit OK
Type IPCONFIG
HIt Enter

Try that number in the link.

Also, did you load the server into the default directory?

Thanks again for your help and I did try using my IP address and I got the same resolutes.  During the installation of Coldfusion I took all the defaults.

It May also be an IIS issue.  Is this on a server or workstation?

It a workstation (HP Pavilion 8000 laptop).

I also created a Hello World HTML page and IIS served it perfectly.  I don't think its a IIS problem but you can never know.

I would Uninstall and reinstall IIS.  Then The frameworkl
