under win2k proffessional i want to setup MX7.01. It worked fine in the past
with CF5, MX6.1, MX7.
Now i get the error message that the webserver connector was not installed
properly becaus port 51011 would be blocked.
I should configure it manually.
In services i see coldfusion runnig, in taskanager i see Jrun and jrunsvc
running.
When i try to use the webserver connector setup i receive an Jrun error (no
rjun server running)
then i try to setup the webconnector for apache 2.0.58 as tn_19575 explains.
At the first step (set jrun.xml proxyserver deactivated to false) i can not
start coldfusion again. This persists even if i edit the proxyentry to true
again.
I tried it with MX7 mx7plus updater and mx7.01 all the same.
Virusscan nod32k is deactivated.
The configuration runs on other machine without a problem.
Please help the server ahs to be online on wednesday.

It often helps to start from scratch, and make the minimum possible changes.
Stop the Coldfusion Server service (in Control Panel => Administrative Tools =>
Services). Restore <i>all</i> the XML changes you made, back to the default.
Close your antivirus and firewall programs. Restart the Coldfusion Server
service. Run the <i>Web Server Configuration Tool</i>, either via Start =>
Programs => Macromedia => Coldfusion MX 7 => Web Server Configuration Tool or
by launching the executable C:\CFusionMX7\runtime\bin\wsconfig.exe.
<i>Remove</i> Apache and any other third-party webservers you may have
connected to Coldfusion.
Restart the Coldfusion Server service. Run the Web Server Configuration Tool.
<i>Add</i> Apache.

Hi, I started all over again.
First deinstalled MX7, then Apache 2.058.
Reboot and offswitching virusscanner.
Then reinstalled MX7.01 and choosed internal webserver.
This Installation was successfull!
BUT
But then I started wsconfig.exe to install a new connector.
Then I got the old well known message that there was no jrun -server running
(taskmanager says yes) and it was impossible to install a new server-connector.
There must be a problem with java and the ports.
The error message is in the OS-systems language (german in this case)
What to do?
To install everything again on a freshly formated HD?

<i>To install everything again on a freshly formated HD?</i>
I don't think that is necessary. Is there an older version of Coldfusion on
the machine? Can you open the Coldfusion Administrator page (using in-built
webserver)?
Malvina - 30 May 2006 08:39 GMT
Yes, i can open the Coldfusion administrator connecting to port 8500.
Please find attached part of system information.
I do not think that there are parts of older installations remaining. I
started with a fresh machine, then i installed apache 2.2. first and cf 7.01 .
Then i run into the trouble not beeing able to install the webserver connector.
Then i deinstalled MX7.01 and apache and instaled from my cd 7.0 and apache
2.0.58 because this was known to operate.
I always got the message after installation that it would be impossible to
install the connector because port 51011 would be blocked. I should install
manually. When I tried this the error message was "there is no Jrun server
running".
So i deinstalled and deleted the rest of MX directories if necessary.rebooted
and started then a next try for installallation. So I guess there are no
remaining parts of other CF-installation. Definitevly nothing prior than MX7.

Do you have a firewall? If so, what happens when you turn it off and then restart the Coldfusion service?
Malvina - 30 May 2006 12:31 GMT
No, there is no firewall. (win2k).
Thank you, that you support me solving the problem..

Malvina,
Try Apache version prior to 2.0.55. They constantly releasing new versions and
sometimes there are changes that we are not yet aware of. Even though we are
saying that we do support all 2.0.* versions I have seen cases where versions
past 2.0.55 did not work as expected. I do have 2.0.53 installed on my machine,
so I know that this one works for sure.
Malvina - 31 May 2006 12:29 GMT
:D Installation was successful!
I set up a new win2k, patched SP3,
installed MDAC 2.6.SP2
installed apache 2.0.54
Then I had the error MSVCP60.dll not found,
I copied MSVCP60.dll from CFusionMX7/verity/k2/_nti40/bin to Winnt/system32.
And then every runs fine.
now i can login with the administrator and my little world is bright and shiny
again!
Thank you for your hints and support
Best regards
Malvina

Well, what is the Answer?
I guess that apache 2.0.58 is not practical for MX7.01
