Good Starter Book(s) ?

just looking for some advice on good books to start learning coldfusion mx
with?

my prefered method is step by step tutorials,

Ben Forta's "ColdFusion MX Web Application Construction Kit" is definitely
the best book for beginners.

there are 2 different books by this name, on the american amazon, and one on
the british amazon,

That picture looks like the one they released before the product actually
came out--a lot of pre-release info referred to "ColdFusion X" instead of
"ColdFusion MX". This is the book you're after:
