Can anyone point me in the right direction? atomenabled.org seems to assume
some core things are already understood, which I don't so am a bit lost. Not
asking for someone to give me the code, just a nudge in the right direction--
am not finding much in googling..... Thanks!

Few things you need to know:

(a) The Atom Publishing Protocol is still an early draft, and is not in a
deployable state.

(b) Many of the examples you'll find on atomenabled.org reference Atom 0.3,
which was essentially a different, pre-IETF format/protocol that is no longer
being developed. When it comes to Atom, if it doesn't say "1.0" on it, just
ignore it.

(c) The reason you're not turning up much on Google is because there's no much
to find. Having spent two years working with the syndication format group, I
decided to take a pass on slogging away with the protocol folks... but last I
checked, not much of anyone is bothering to write more than tiny, skeletal
pieces of APP code until the spec has firmed up.

Thanks for the clarification! I'd started down this path because I'd emailed
Flickr to see if we could get our app added to their list to automatically post
photos  to our app and they responded with

Are you Blogger API, Meta Weblog API, or Atom enabled?

I haven't explored the 2nd option but when I went to Blogger API I got the
impression it was no longer going to be supported as they were switching to
Atom?

Okay, I'm getting a better picture of what you're after now.

First, the thread title confused me a bit... from Flickr's POV, they're
posting blog entries to your app, not comments. If I recall correctly, they
currently support the Blogger 1.0, MetaWeblog, and Atom 0.3 APIs for posting
new entries.

Blogger will indeed by supporting the Atom Publishing Protocol, and they have
threatened to eventually drop support for the Blogger 1.0 API. 'Course, those
threats have been making the rounds for two years now, so who knows? Either
way, you'd probably want to do something else, because the Blogger API omits
support for basic things like titles and such.

I'd recommend boning up on the MetaWeblog API and taking that route. It's a
superset of the Blogger API, is supported by just about everyone, and isn't
going anywhere anytime soon.

If you need something to get you started, you can give my
http://support.journurl.com/users/admin/index.cfm/mode/article/entry/362, and a
more complete write-up can be found in DRK4.

Shiny, thanks!

;) I'm a Browncoat too......

Unfortunately, DRK4 is no longer available.... I don't see a way to purchase it
separately and the links on the site for subscribing to devnet are no longer
working-- looks like they're discontinuing devnet, so am I out of luck on
getting past ones?

Hm... I'm not sure what to tell ya on that front. I explicitly retained the
rights to distribute my CFCs (xmlrpc.cfc and xmlrpcservice.cfc), but I don't
*think* I have the right to distribute the article I wrote for them.

You might try contacting Christian Cantrell and see what he says. Adobe may
not care if I give you a copy, but I don't want to ruffle any feathers.
