I have been trying to run Verity in a multi-server environment (2 machines
running CFMX 7) with no success.  When I create the collections in one of the
machines, the other machine in the network cannot see the collections in the
first machine.  The ports have been configured as per the k2 defaults.  Any
ideas?

You can only have a single machine (but multiple instances on that machine)
talking to the Verity 5.5 K2 server.  And you can only do this with the
Enterprise edition.

The full Verity K2 product would support the many-to-one configuration.

Tom,

Thanks for your response.  However, in the very little documentation available
in CFMX 7 about Verity, it clearly indicates that you can install the Verity
component in a separate machine.  This functionality was standard in the
previous version of the product.

Our license for Verity 5.5 does not allow more than one CFMX *machine* to
connect to the K2server.  You can have multiple instances on the same
machine talk to a single K2server.

See the Administrating CFMX book, Part II.

You are correct that this licensing limitation is not explicitly spelled out
in enough detail in the documentation.  I apologize for that.

Does anyone have a solution to the Verity limitation introduced with CFMX7? I
havent been able to come up with anything other than installing Verity on all 7
of our production servers, but I dont not want to have to index and maintain
the collections seperately across 7 servers. With MX 6.1, we could have the
collections maintained on 1 server, and search against them from all servers.
Anyone have any suggestions or solutions to using Verity in a clustered
environment?
